Small businesses almost always lead the world back to prosperity and productivity after a recession. This time around some of the industries look a bit different than they might have after the downturn in 2001. Technology still leads, but close on its heels are a handful of sectors that may have only been mere mentions in the past. No matter what business you are in, nearly every one of these industries offers great opportunities for your business. Market research company IBIS World analyzed 708 industries to predict which six represent the fastest-growing markets for small business over the next decade, reports TheStreet. Voice-Over-Internet-Protocol (VoIP) providers will likely be the fastest-growing market, with nearly 150% growth predicted over the next ten years. Retirement and pension plans, biotechnology, e-commerce and online auctions, environmental consulting, and video games were also highlighted as top industries for small business growth.
