For those of us who are Mac users and have had to use PCs in the past, the TV ads for the “Get a Mac” campaign definitely have a certain appeal. We may even feel a sense of relief when we think of those times when we suffered the consequences of the near monopoly of Windows, and we had to battle every day against the thousand and one problems that PCs caused.
But these ads also mark an important line in the marketing strategies of Apple and Microsoft. The giant of Redmond, Washington continues to make vain efforts to reach the market that it has now lost for good. Campaigns that were lively and youthful that sought to get us to buy a a product that needs to be completely reevaluated. But these campaigns were, at the end of the day, totally forgettable. Yes, Windows 7 has been on the market for a few months but, who remembers the ads?
