Liga BBVA
Spanish bank BBVA, the main sponsor of the LFP (the Spanish Football League) has expanded its sponsorship agreement of Spanish football until 2013. Thus, the existing contract that was signed by both parties in June of 2008 will be extended for another two years, which would have expired at the end of the current season.
According to the President of the LFP, China and the Asian market in general will be a key piece in the League’s growth strategy, and it seems that BBVA will also aid in those expansion efforts, although it’s still unclear what this will entail.
The new agreement was officially announced in Barcelona, taking advantage of the presence of the Los Angeles Lakers in the city, at the same time that the contract making BBVA the official bank of the NBA was also announced.
