John Consoli recently wrote in AdWeek about the principal players in the Latino media universe in the U.S. The list of executives profiled include familiar names such as the beloved Mario Kreutzberger, a.k.a Don Francisco, and Cristina Saralegui of El Show de Cristina, as well as some lesser known but equally import names, such as Emilio Azcarraga, CEO of Grupo Televisa (the largest media company in Latin America), and Monica Gadsby, head of Starcom Mediavest Group Multicultural, where she oversees $1billon in media buys.

The list is a good introduction to the major players working in the U.S. Latin media world—and yes, even though this is the U.S. market, some foreign players are discussed. In addition to Televisa’s Azcarraga, there is also Venezuelan Gustavo Cisneros of the Cisneros Group, who counts Venevision Productions among his holdings. I would encourage those marketers who are interested in learning about the Latino media universe in the U.S. to check out this collection of executives in order to see what they’ve been up to.
