Coca Cola
Coca Cola is the largest beverage company in the world and the most valuable brand. Coca Cola has realized that reaching Latinos either in the United States or in Latin America is one of the best ways to sell their beverages. Every year since the 1980s, Coca Cola has built part of their business by targeting Latinos, and one simple way that they target the latino community is by placing ads during soccer games. Soccer is the sport that is widely watched in Latin America and by most U.S. Hispanics.
This year Coca Cola had a great TV commercial “Buscando Coca Cola” during the Concacaf Copa de Oro which is play in the United States every two years. The Coke commercial is about a soccer fan desperately looking for a supply of Coca Cola before the soccer match, but a fan from the opposing team is able to get the last supply of coke overtime. The purpose of the commercial is that the six pack of coca cola that the other fan has unites both fans to share the delicious beverage, plus they can party and watch the game together.
We know that the Coca Cola brand is targeting a specific ethnicity to sell their product, but it is enjoyable to see that Coca Cola is taking their time to put a positive message of sharing and enjoying a great time together with friends and family through soccer.
