Netflix
Though many in the US are angry about Netflix´s recent hike in prices, Latin Americans are happy to have just been notified that the company will expand south, to 43 countries, with movies in Spanish, Portuguese and English.
At one “low” monthly price, Netflix will soon offer unlimited internet streaming of television shows and movies via TVs, PCs, Macs and even mobile devices. Though this is a big step for Netflix, as their stock prices have skyrocketed after this announcement, this is also very big for Latin America. It shows the world the reality of the situation, that these aren´t the “third world countries¨ as they´re so often perceived, rather a huge market, hungry for technology and entertainment.
I imagine we´ll see many more companies following in Netflix´s footsteps (if they´re wise).
