E-readers
From November 2010 to May 2011, just seven short months, E-reader ownership among US adults has doubled according to a new survey from the Pew Research Center’s Internet & American Life Project. And what ethnic group is embracing this technology the most? Hispanics, of course.
During the aforementioned time period, Hispanic E-reader ownership went from 5 to 15 percent, with devices like Amazon’s Kindle or Barnes & Noble’s Nook. Interestingly enough, devices like Apple´s iPad or other portable devices meant more for online and multimedia activities, did not see similar growth; only around 8 percent of all US adults own one.
Still, E-reader adoption is far from that of other technologies, especially the mobile phone. As we´ve reported before, Hispanics are extremely fond of using their mobile to access information, so we remain at the conclusion that mobile advertising is the key target for reaching US Hispanics.
