Apple TV
Apple could be creating a television that works from an iOS operating system with the ability to view digital content.
In early July, AppleInsider reported that 2012 could bring a test batch of their own wide-screen TVs in order to work with HD technology. Company analytic Piper Jaffray recently said that the Apple TV´s official launch could occur in early 2013. It´s likely that the TV will be compatible with iCloud and by the end of 2012, Apple could adapt this service´s structure to make it more appropriate for TVs.
It would have a 46-inch screen with a built-in stereo system, work with the iOS operating system an offer the possibility for downloading programs from the App Store. It would cost around $4,000 to $5,000 USD. According to experts, this new TV could leave the AppleTV digital multimedia receptor behind. Also, the company is negotiating with various providers to license some of the new product´s content.
Meanwhile, Google announced the launch of its Google TV platform in Europe, which provides access to Internet services through TVs and TV consoles. Presented in May 2010, the platform wasn´t a big hit in the US, but the company is now planning to make the service more comfortable in order to attract content providers. The interactive Google TV will be available in Europe in the beginning of 2012, according to chief executive of the Google directive board, Erick Schmidt.
Thanks to this platform, users can watch YouTube videos or other web content from their TV via the Chrome browser. It was developed as a graphic interface with its main principal as searching for movies, books, videos, and files not only among the archives, but also among live broadcast channels on satellite and cable.
Google TV is available through special TVs made by Sony and also, Logitech Revue receptors. It functions from the Android mobile operating system, and smartphones can be used as a remote control.
