In the marketing world there always seems to be a lot of skepticism when it comes to new media. People feel that it’s too risky, too unproven or too different. On a daily basis I speak with potential advertisers about digital advertising and surprisingly for a number of them, online is not their cup of tea. They either don’t understand it or choose not to learn about it.
This year alone US online ad spending will grow by 20.2% to over $31 billion. How many industries do you know of that can grow by over 20% in a year? Not many, that’s for sure. In order for that to occur, the industry has to be relevant, growing and provide a solution to someone’s problems.
Online advertising is here to stay. Smart advertisers are becoming more aggressive by targeting consumers online with video and other engaging methods. Many of these advertisers have whole teams dedicated to their online efforts. And the great thing about online advertising is that the results are measurable. For those companies sitting on the sidelines, it’s time to get in the game.
