Hacker
A Romanian hacker was accused by the authorities of his country and the United States of having illegally entered the informatics system of the NASA. The manipulated equipment by Victor Faur, 22 years old, contains scientific data about special programs and new technologies. According to the court, the young man managed to turn the NASA system into a chat room where he would communicate with members of his hacker group.
The General Attorney of the United States says that Faur is the leader of a group called “White Hat Team” that recently managed to enter the computer system of the American government, one of the most protected informatics networks in the world. The Romanian has shared the access with the above mentioned group members.
Faur has told the press that everything had been “a game” and that he didn’t want to harm any institution.
Police has informed that the hacker has provoked a damage worth 1.3 million US Dollars, for which he could go to prison in the United States for up to 54 years. However, according to the Department of Justice, the young Romanian cannot be handed over to the respective country, because Romania and the United States have signed an agreement in 1920 which does not include crimes related to high technology.
