One more Black Friday- I only hear of this day every year after Thanksgiving since I have two younger sisters who always want to go shopping. I have never paid attention to this day- or should I call it an event- due to the fact that so much money is spent on this day. But after reading an article in CNN Money I realize that I have been missing out, and probably not helping the economy as the rest of the millions of people have by shopping on Black Friday .
According to the article Black Friday: Stores could see record number of shoppers an estimated 152 million people are expected to shop on Black Friday weekend, a 10% increase from last year, according to a report from industry trade group the National Retail Federation. The article also states that last year 212 million people showed up (a record high) but only 138 million shopped over the long weekend.
I actually never thought so many people would go out on that day because of the enormous lines they just to get that special deal. I had an idea that many people would go out and shop but never imagined that it was hundreds of millions of people.
Now, have I changed my mind, and am I going to shop on Black Friday? Nope, I actually do not like big lines. But I am definitely going to help the economy- not that weekend but the next couple weekends before Christmas, as I need to do a lot of Christmas shopping.
